How to Plan Your Catering Menu
Often times the hardest part about planning anything is just knowing where to start, using theses 3 simple steps and finding the right caterer will help make everything come together!
1. Choose Your Menu Style - There are pros and cons to all style menus, you just have to choose which one you think will serve the purpose and fit your event best. Plated meals are more elegant while buffets are very cost effective. Stations are a great way to get your guests mingling and family-style is great for providing a comfortable feel. Based on the style of your event and your budget the right option for you should jump out.
2. Be Accommodating, But Only When Necessary - While food always tends to be a major part of every event, it is not the sole reason for your guests arriving. The menu you choose should be something that you enjoy and find suitable for the style of event you are hosting. Not everyone is going to have their favorite food or even like everything offered on the menu and that is OK! A good caterer will be able to handle the few guests you may have with diet restrictions without an issue whether they be vegetarian, vegan, kosher, gluten-free or anything in between. As long as you make any diet restrictions known to your caterer ahead of time they will be able to accommodate those guests without a hitch. |
3. Choose Your Type of Cuisine - Are you looking to have all one style cuisine or maybe a variety of a few? No matter what you decide the most important thing here is to make sure you find a caterer that can do what you are looking for. Look for a caterer that can build all kinds of styles, flavors, and menus, not necessarily just what you specifically want to have served. Any caterer that has great reviews, especially if they’ve been reviewed for specialized menus, is definitely a caterer to consider.
